From June 2013 to May 2014, thanks to a partnership with the Rexel Foundation, Microsol led a study to be downloaded here, to analyse the potential to foster electricity and lighting access in the Andean region, based on renewable energy, and thanks to carbon mechanisms.

The study was coordinated by Emilie Etienne, who led an exhaustive investigation work as well as field studies in 5 countries of Latin America. The final report of the study provides a potential analysis to spread energy efficiency’s carbon programs in Latin America, through carbon markets. We  focused on 5 countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile and two main challenges: access to electricity and lighting for poor people.

The following video will provide you with an overview of the main aspects of the study!

If you want to know more about the study, with key facts, our conclusions and recommendations, we invite you to download the executive summary. The whole report is also available, with the details of the research.
